What NC has confirmed in writing for AION 2's global release on 5 October 2026: dates, platforms, regions, Founder's Packs, the membership, trading rules and the PC you need. And, separately, what nobody has confirmed yet. Checked 25 Sep 2026.

Five days on dedicated Early Access servers, 30 September to 4 October. NC has not announced the start hour. Steam testers must first uninstall the Playtest app and install the retail client.
New Launch servers open for everyone; Early Access servers stay joinable while capacity allows. The hour is not in any NC notice; Steam's listing implies 13:00 UTC (6 AM PDT, 15:00 CEST, 22:00 JST).
Two six-hour sessions open to everyone, level cap 37, all progress wiped. NC opened two extra EU server pairs within 90 minutes on day one.
Steam (app 3393110, free) or NC's own PURPLE launcher via aion2.plaync.com. The game is PC-only in the global version; NC says a console version is in development but cross-play is unlikely, and there is no global mobile version.
Founder's Packs are locked to the platform you bought them on, and one pack per account.
Server regions: North America West, North America East, South America, Central Europe and Japan, per NC's answers to Massively OP; no Oceania server, with the Taiwan service suggested for those players. Data-centre cities have not been published.
Eight in-game languages: English, French, German, Spanish (Spain), Portuguese (Brazil), Russian, Japanese, Korean. Full voice audio in English, Japanese and Korean.
| Detail | Confirmed | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Elyos and Asmodians on separate servers | Yes. The EU test servers came in faction pairs (Vaizel / Triniel, Kaisinel / Lumiel); you meet the other side only in the Abyss, Rifts, arenas and events. | NC notice |
| Dungeon matchmaking | Region-wide from day one; Abyss matchmaking stays within Early Access servers until launch and pairs servers by progress and strength. | NC notice |
| Player-to-player trading | Disabled as an anti-bot measure. The Market is the only trading hub; a per-server Market opens at launch, a cross-server one later. | NC notice |
| Login queue | When a server is full, 'members in good standing' enter a priority queue; NC calls it a privilege it can revoke for disciplinary reasons. | NC notice |
| Server transfers | Promised, no date. | NC notice |
| Controller | Playable; full controller support for launch still 'being evaluated'. | Steam FAQ |
Every tier buys the five days of Advanced Access, a 30-day Special Quai Membership, the Daeva's Campaign Supply Chest and the Unique-grade title Vanguard of Atreia. NC says the pack cosmetics will not be sold separately in the global shop. Prices are NC's US prices from its notice board; check your own store page for local pricing.
Free-to-play. A shop of cosmetics and consumables, a per-character Daeva Pass with free and premium tracks, and an optional Special Quai Membership at $15 for 30 days. NC says shop items do not affect gear progression.
Membership is required to use the player Market and the Kina-to-Quna Exchange. Other perks NC lists: remote storage, the Wind Breeze merchants, a higher Odyle Energy cap, the Quna Exchange shop, and more Odyle Energy Cube picks after Expedition, Transcendence and Sanctuary runs. Benefits apply per server.
Payments on PURPLE run through Xsolla. A first purchase with a Visa, Mastercard, AMEX or JCB card may trigger 3D Secure or a small verification charge; you get three attempts within three hours. Apple Pay (56 countries, not Japan, the Netherlands or Belgium) and Cash App Pay (US) were added on 23 September; NC's notice does not say whether that covers Steam purchases.
Signing up for the official newsletter (18+) earns the Pagati pet plus one more pet of your choice at launch; no purchase needed.

Unreal Engine 5; DLSS 4.5 at launch per NC's Gamescom Q&A. AION Companion itself is light: it reads small screen regions with local text recognition and tails a log file, and it will list its own footprint before release.
This hub is made by the team building AION Companion, an AI companion for AION 2 that reads your HUD from the screen and the game's own event log on your PC, and talks to you out loud. It is not released yet.
