Arcana, Daevanion boards, wings and pets in AION 2: the side systems that add up
Half your end-game power comes from systems beside your gear. What each one gives, which choices are traps, and the setups the community settled on.

Gear is only part of an AION 2 character. Card sets, talent boards, pets, wings and even your wardrobe all add stats, and several of them are where your skill levels really come from. None is complicated on its own; together they are a lot. Here is what each one does and where people go wrong.
A note on numbers: most of what the community has measured comes from the Korean servers, which have been live since November 2025 and run more systems and bigger stat totals than the global build. Treat exact figures as a direction, not a promise, and expect them to move as global catches up.
Skills first: why levels matter
Active Skills go to level 10 with Wisdom Stones (from levelling, feather turn-ins and the Nightmare and Shugo Festival shops). Everything above that comes from gear lines, Daevanion boards and Arcana. Specialty perks open at levels 8, 12, 16 and 20, with a third perk slot at 20, and every class has one or two level-20 skills its whole build depends on (a single Gladiator or Templar skill can be well over half the damage). Pick your two most important Active Skills early and push them to 20; then turn to key Passive Skills. Stigma skills level separately with Stigma Shards up to 20, and with Superior Stigma Shards up to 25 after the level 50 update; supports in particular are judged by their key Stigma levels.

Arcana: cards with set bonuses
Think of Arcana as a second set of equipment. There are ten card types, and each gives a Pantheon stat plus up to four lines from its own pool:
- Chalice and Scale: any Active or Passive Skill (the most valuable, and the hardest to roll).
- Parchment and Compass: one half each of your Active Skills.
- Bell and Mirror: one half each of your Passive Skills.
- Key and Dice: offensive stats. Hourglass and Lantern: defensive stats.
Cards come from Transcendence dungeons along with Training Arcana. Feeding cards or Training Arcana into the card you wear levels it to 5, and each level adds +1 to a random skill line on it. Moving to a better card loses part of the experience you put in, but is still usually worth it (same-type cards give bonus experience). Crafting a card in the Transmute menu lets you choose its lines, paid in Crystals morphed from dungeon shards. It is worth doing, and if you craft a four-line card, start with the Chalice: the other cards roll four lines from a pool of six and usually land close on their own.
Global launched with fewer cards and sets than Korea has now. The early setup values the Pantheon stats over the two weak set bonuses: aim for two Primal Vigor cards (+60 PvE Attack above 70% HP) with Magic Armor for the rest, and get Time on the Chalice (Combat Speed), Destruction on the Bell (Attack Increase) and Wisdom on the Mirror (Double Chance). Later eight-card setups move to Punishing Overture (boss damage tolerance, then PvE Attack and +10% PvE Damage Boost above 70% HP) and Protected Soul (Restoration, then +5% Weapon Damage Boost and an emergency shield).
Daevanion boards
Eight boards in the style of a Diablo paragon board. Respeccing is almost free, so experiment. Tiles come in four colours: grey (basic stats), green (Passive Skills or double stats), blue (Active Skills or % stats) and orange (big stats, on the edges and corners).
- The four white boards (Nezekan, Zikel, Vaizel, Triniel) share one pool of points and cannot all be completed. Take your key Active Skill tiles first, then the important orange tiles, and collect every grey Attack Bonus tile over time.
- Skip in PvE: Multi-hit Resist on Triniel and Critical Damage Tolerance on Vaizel. Weapon Damage Tolerance on Marchutan is useless in PvE too, but its unlock crystals are farmable, so it costs nothing.
- The four coloured boards give no skill levels and each has its own points: Ariel (PvE damage and tolerance), Azphel (PvP, ignore for PvE), Marchutan (weapon damage, mid-game; Yustiel crystals convert 1:1) and Yustiel (Attack and Defense Increase, end-game). All three PvE ones can be finished through Conquest and Transcendence dungeons.

Pet Genus
Five boards (Cogni, Fera, Natura, Varian and Special), each with nine slots. Raising a board's Insight level unlocks more slots and better grades. Analyze rerolls every unlocked slot, and each slot you lock makes the next roll dearer. You get three presets.
- On global: do not lock anything while you level every board to 9 with Analyze. Then use Auto Analyze to fish for a Unique (yellow) roll of the board's best stat on slot 4. Level the Special board first.
- Upgrade order per board: slot 4, then 1 and 5, then 6, 9 and 7; leave 2 and 8, which cost far more than they give.
- Slots 1 and 5: Max Attack, else Attack Bonus. Slots 3, 6 and 9: Power Shard Bonus, or Critical Hit and Accuracy if you are below the cap. Slot 7: Damage Tolerance or PvE Damage Tolerance, else Endurance.
- Slot 4 by board: Special, Double Chance and nothing else; Varian, Front/Back Damage Boost; Fera, Weapon Damage Boost; Cogni, Critical Damage Boost; Natura, PvE Damage Boost.
- Pets' owned effects also grow as you collect them, up to level 3 on global. Prioritise Might (each Cogni-type creature) and Precision (each Natura-type). Use Source to find them; one with no source lives on the other faction's land.
Wings
Wings give stats twice: an equip effect while you wear them and an owned effect just for having them. Upgrading (to +10, not available at global launch) raises the owned effect, and +1 reveals a hidden line that the tooltip does not show at +0; the Abyss-shop Brawler Wings hide a Weapon Damage Boost line this way. Only the top owned line and the hidden line grow with upgrades.
Which wings people actually wear (Korean class statistics from aion2tool, August 2026): Eroded Wings lead for Brawler, Templar, Gladiator, Ranger, Cleric, Chanter and narrowly Spiritmaster, because Front/Back Damage Boost sits in its own multiplier and is worth stacking even for ranged classes. Talisra is the near-universal Sorcerer pick (over 90%) and was the Assassin favourite, with the newer Awaken Pride Wings taking over there. Sorcerers and Spiritmasters skip Eroded because their kits gain little from positional damage. To upgrade over time: Azure Flash, Brawler, Dramata Nest, Forest Spirit, Illusory Echo and Nightmare all carry damage on their owned effects.
The Closet
Collecting outfits is a long, slow stat system. Each category of skin raises a matching percentage; weapon skins, for example, raise the Attack of that weapon type. The bonus applies to your weapon's average Attack (the midpoint of its range), so it grows with your weapon.
